Be.Ez LA robe Allure 15″
A MacBook is a big investment. Well, it’s expensive. And the very last thing you want to happen to such a big investment is for it to get damaged. And that is why cases are so important. But the second last thing you want to do with your new investment is to make it look ugly. That’s where Be.Ez comes in, they make great looking cases for laptops, that offer not just protection, but looks that rival the MacBook’s themselves in style. The LArobe 15″ is a case that fits nearly any 15″ laptop, but are specially designed for Apple’s range of portables. And at $35 US it isn’t overly expensive either. However, the LA Robe is not really suited for more sophisticated needs, with its colours and design being beautiful, but not particularly subtle or professional looking.
Agent V5 HD WebCam
Every New Apple Laptop and iMac comes with inbuilt iSight. Now these are great and all, but they have their limitations. And they certainly are limitations. And what about if you own a Mac Pro or Mac Mini. What are your webcam options? A few years back you could opt for Apple’s own iSight, but now, it seems your choices a limited to some Logitech designed black plasticky sphere or a fully fledged camera, or, Agent’s V5 webcam. Specs wise it has up to 5MP video and picture resolution, with an inbuilt mic and is USB, but looks wise, it is stunning. For those of you who have used or even seen an Apple iSight before, this will certainly bring back memories. Its design is almost identical to the old Apple offering with it’s tube like shape and aluminium finish. Included when you purchase the V5 is three different stands; a desktop clear plastic stand, a white notebook clip and a similar monitor hook. All three serve their purpose well.
Apple Wireless Keyboard
No one does design quite like Apple. Their products are quite simply some of the most outstanding examples of industrial design in the technology world. The Apple Wireless keyboard is certainly no exception to this. The gorgeous seamless aluminium construction matches the rest of Apple’s hardware line up perfectly, with the keys themselves also tying in flawlessly with the other products. The layout of the keys will be very familiar to anyone who has used a recent MacBook Pro or MacBook, having been virtually lifted from their body. Like all keyboards, the actual typing comes down to personal taste, but if you are used to typing on a MacBook then you will not have a probably shifting to Apple’s wireless version. The key construction is very different from most keyboards, with the keys being streamlined and flat rather than fat curvy and tough. Rather than pressing down the usually colossal distance on most keyboards, this keyboard provides a satisfactory relief, with only small pressure needed to lower the keys to their full extent.
Griffin PowerMate
Apple is one of the most design orientated companies in the world. A great Apple accessory has to be both beautiful and functional. Turns out, no one really told Griffin. Well, clearly no one told Griffin that it has to be both attractive and functional, because they seem to have made a beautiful accessory that is essentially useless. It is however, beautifully useless. It may not have much function other than to look good, but it sure as hell does that well. Ok, I have exaggerated a little, the PowerMate does have some function. It can both scroll and adjust the volume, and it also has a very nifty software addon that allows you to add more function. But for the end user, is it really worth it? To be brutally honest, there is so little function to this device it is hard to write a paragraph on. It seems that it was mostly simply a play thing of the design team, a way of proving their worth, with little function added on.
